On November 26, 2026, Barre City Police responded to Playground 2000 after receiving a report of lewd and indecent conduct.
A mother, present with her child, witnessed a man inside a play structure watching them before crawling out and openly masturbating.
She chased him out of the park and provided cellphone footage of the incident as evidence.
The suspect, identified as a 20-year-old Barre resident, was cited to appear in Washington Superior Court on December 4, 2026, to face charges of Lewd and Indecent Conduct.
In addition, he was issued a 180-day trespass notice barring him from city-owned properties.

Community Outburst After the Incident: Residents Express Outrage Over the 180-Day Trespass Order!
released the detailing the incident and its legal consequences.
Tina Stoudt later shared the post on Facebook, adding her own reaction: “these freaks need off our streets.“
Her focus was on community safety and the urgency of removing individuals who pose such risks from public spaces.
By amplifying the police department’s release, she highlighted her concern about the adequacy of current measures and called attention to the broader issue of protecting families in public areas.
Community members quickly weighed in on Tina’s shared post, voicing strong opinions about the case and its handling.
One person shared their POV, highlighting their frustration, saying
180 days no trespass? Really? That’s it? That should be instant grounds to be banned from playgrounds and all similar properties like a sex offender.
Another expressed relief, saying, “glad he was charged.” Others reflected concern over public safety, saying, “sick people out there.“
This type of behaviour in public creates fear and trauma for children who witness such acts, and public areas like playgrounds lose their trust and welcoming atmosphere.
Action must be taken not only through the justice system but also from the community.
