Christina Chambers, a former sports reporter, was found dead alongside her husband, Johnny Rimes, on Tuesday morning, December 16, 2026, in an apparent murder-suicide.

Family members found them unresponsive at around 9 a.m. and called Hoover Police to thier home.

Christina was found dead in her home alongside her husband, Johnny Rimes, in an apparent murder-suicide. A three-year-old child was present at their home but was unharmed.

Officers and medics arrived to find both Chambers and her husband with gunshot wounds and pronounced them dead at the scene. The Hoover Police Department’s investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading to the deaths. The focus for now is on the well-being of the couple’s young child.

Christina Chambers passed away at 38, surrounded by the enduring love that she gave freely throughout her years.

She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and granddaughter.

Christina Nicole Chambers, the daughter of Mary and Tim Chambers, was born on October 28, 1987, in Birmingham, Alabama.

She was the embodiment of the love raised in a close-knit family alongside her siblings.

Christina married the love of her life, Johnny Rimes, at the same family altar in August 2026. Later, they had a son, who is now 3 years old.

Her own devotion as a daughter was beautifully demonstrated in a for her amazing mother, Mary.

In a heartfelt tribute to her mother, she cherished recreating a wedding day photograph at that sacred altar, weaving a new generation into the family’s tapestry of love.

Christina’s life was profoundly shaped by her deep roots and cherished grandparents, Armando and Sally DeMarco. She held them as the “best treasures on earth.”

Her grandmother was a guiding light for 35 years, instilling in her a steadfast Catholic faith and the tenacity to never abandon her dreams.

She also shared a joyful bond with her grandfather, the oldest living first-generation Italian-American in their family, with whom she proudly shared her birthday.

Sadly, Armando passed away at 90, and Sally at 84.

Christina leaves behind a legacy of familial love, unwavering faith, and joyful tradition.

She is survived by her young son, her parents, her sister, and a wide circle of family and friends who were blessed by her radiant spirit.

The Chambers family will soon announce a service to celebrate the life of a former reporter. Though her time was brief, the light of her love will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
