Eastvale, California Native and Azusa Pacific Volleyball Star Terra Whitaker Passes Away

Terra Whitaker, an Eastvale, California native and student-athlete at Azusa Pacific University, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2026, at an untimely age.
While the details regarding the actual cause and manner of her untimely death are not yet available, many of her loved ones are paying tribute to the late Terra Whitaker and extending their heartfelt condolences to her family during this difficult time.
Terra Whitaker began her athletic journey at a very young age and won the hearts of many with her exceptional volleyball journey, earning several honorable titles.
She was continuing her athletic career at Azusa Pacific University, playing for the women’s volleyball team.
Standing at a towering height of 5’11”, Terra Whitaker joined the Azusa Pacific Cougars in 2026 as an outside hitter and was leading her team in several victories.
Additionally, Terra Whitake played volleyball for Forza1North Volleyball Club in Ontario, California.
She began her journey with Forza1North as an outside hitter at the age of 13.
Forza1North took to its official social media to pay tribute to its beloved member and wrote:
“Terra began her journey with us as a young athlete in her 13th year and continued through her 18s, growing not only as a player but as a person who deeply touched everyone around her. She was a sweet, kind soul with an infectious smile that could light up any gym. Her positive energy, dedication to the game, and warmth toward her teammates made her a cherished member of our volleyball family. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and her memory will continue to inspire us both on and off the court. Rest in peace, Terra. You will be missed more than words can say. 🕊️🤍🤍.”
Late Terra Whitaker Played High School Volleyball at Eleanor Roosevelt High School
Prior to joining Azusa Pacific University, showcased her amazing athletic skills playing varsity volleyball at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, from which she graduated in 2026.
Standing at 5’11”, she played as an outside hitter (#12) for the varsity team. During her senior year in 2026, she helped lead her team to a 28-7 record, finishing 8-2 in league play and securing second place, with the team ranked #77 in the state.
Terra began her varsity career as a freshman in 2019, playing middle hitter and wearing jersey #12, helping her team achieve a 14-10 record, finish 6-4 in league play, and rank #264 in the state and #2,585 nationally.
Her dedication and performance made her a standout athlete throughout her high school career.
In addition to her volleyball career, Terra was building her career as a certified personal trainer. She worked as a and administrative assistant at Salty Fitness Studio in Orange, California, from 2026 until her recent passing.
Terra also had a group fitness instructor license from the American Council on Exercise.
Her contribution to the community and her athletic journey will always be remembered.

- Late Terra Whitaker was pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management at Azua Pacific University, from which she was set to graduate in December 2026.
