Baltimore Police are investigating a double shooting case on the 3200 block of Reisterstown Road in northwest Baltimore, near Druid Hill Park, after a 22-year-old Footballer was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Shooting on October 25, 2026, left Tyree Brooks dead. A stray bullet also hit a 7-year-old riding in a nearby vehicle.

“The young male that was shot, he was a passenger inside of a vehicle that was traveling down the road. He was an innocent bystander; he was not part of anything involving the adult male,” said Jones, Deputy Police Commissioner.

Police officers reached the crime scene around 5:30 and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. The Baltimore City Mayor also responded to the tragic incident,

“While we pray for that family, we pray for the young man’s family, we also want people to tell us whatever they know. We cannot and will not, accept that people can just have these guns illegally and be able to use them discriminately in our community, killing one person, harming a child and think they’re going to walk free throughout the city of Baltimore. This is why we have to bring this person in. We have to remove people like this who will take someone’s life, and injure someone else, injure a child. We have to remove them from the streets as quickly as possible.”

Baltimore Residents on High Alert after Shooting Cases Increase

Police have not confirmed whether Brooks was the intended target and have not yet released any information about the suspects.

Reports show that a 18, faced charges in 2026 in Pennsylvania for aggravated assault, simple assault, and assault on a sports official during a high school football game in York County.

The officials have not confirmed whether it is the same person who was killed in Baltimore.

However, the victim’s High school, where he played football, i.e., Spring Grove, and age seem to match, according to the , which is raising the funds for him.

The GoFundMe page suggests Kevin played for Spring Grove.

As the authorities have released no further details, it is hard to provide concrete information about the connections.

The shooting is the latest in a series of violent incidents affecting the city. Another have also been confirmed in Baltimore, raising concerns among the residents of Maryland City.

One individual added, “Nowhere is safe in the city; concealed carry is a must.” Another one added, “Rest In Peace, Tyree Brooks. Facts may prove otherwise, but I think he was just a guy who took a bullet meant for somebody else.”

Anyone with information related to any of the shootings can contact Baltimore Police or Metro Crime Stoppers.

This year, the city of Baltimore has recorded over 100 already, including over 250 non-fatal shootings.
