Victor S. “Vito” DiJohn, who played football at Bowling Green State University, tragically passed away on Thursday.
Vic dedicated 30 years of his life to educating young minds as a teacher at Rossford High School, retiring in 2005.
He had a passion for sports, having played at Bowling Green State University, and was an enthusiastic Cleveland Browns fan, embracing his team’s highs and lows.
In addition to sports, Vic enjoyed racketball, golf, and working out.
He cherished sitting on his front porch, a space that often welcomed family and friends, reflecting his love for togetherness.

According to sources, football player Victor S. “Vito” DiJohn passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2026, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, on Wednesday, October 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The funeral service will follow immediately at 12:00 PM, with interment at Toledo Memorial Park.
In honor of Vic’s life, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Toledo Humane Society.

Victor S. “Vito” DiJohn was married to Joan DiJohn in 2005.
Sadly, their life ended after 20 years following the tragic death of Victor.
Friends and relatives have offered their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Joan to stay strong.
Victor and Joan were blessed with three children: Nate, Brooke, and Brad Owczarzak.
They are mourning the tragic loss of their father, Victor.
