Scarlett Carpenter alleges that her son, Hunter, was bullied every day in school and gave up trying out for sports like football and basketball.
She felt sad, but also advised her son to keep his head up and ignore those kids who make fun of him.
The high school playground should be a place for fun, friendship, and a break from the classroom, but for some students, it can become a place of fear and anxiety due to bullying.
Playground bullying can take many forms, including verbal, physical, and social. This behavior often occurs in areas with less adult supervision, such as the far end of the field or a crowded courtyard.
Its impact is profound, leaving students feeling lonely, embarrassed, and afraid to go to school. It can also affect their concentration and self-esteem.
Creating a kinder playground is everyone’s job, and looking out for one another and speaking up can ensure that school is a positive place for all students.
Bullies Took Hunter’s Joy for Football, Now They’re Ruining Basketball Too
Scarlett Carpenter alleges that her son, Hunter, faces bullying every single day at school.
The situation of bullying has become so severe that it has forced Hunter to give up on the sports he loves.
Hunter recently attended basketball tryouts, but his experience was ruined by another child who made fun of him the entire time.
He returned home in tears and now doesn’t want to attend the tryouts.
Moreover, it was the only reason why he didn’t play football this year, a sport he loves the most. The high school coach is aware of the situation and has reached out to the Sacrlett.
I find it very sad that a child can’t go to school or play a sport due to bullies.
Furthermore, Scarlett has advised her son to ignore the tormentors and keep his head up.
She firmly states that Hunter isn’t perfect but knows the pain of bullying firsthand and would never inflict it on someone else.
Bullying is a real thing kids take their own lives everyday. I will not stand for this any longer.
The heartfelt post has sparked concern among other parents, which highlights the ongoing challenge of bullying in schools and its devastating impact on children’s lives.
I had to make Owen stand up for himself last year and threaten to punch a kid that kept picking on him. Landed him in principal’s office, but not in trouble cause they knew I told him to say what he had to. School admins never did take it seriously. He was coming home in tears daily before that. It all stopped after that for him. And I took him out for ice cream to celebrate.
