Apple Valley High School Cheerleader Captain Avie Ward Mourns Elder Brother Landon Ward, 19, Who Dies in Tragic Boating Accident: ‘You inspire me to be strong and giving every day, just as you were’

Landon Ward, an Apple Valley, California native and brother of AVHS cheerleader Avie Ward, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2026, leaving his family, friends, and loved ones devastated.

According to a family member, Landon Ward lost his life in a tragic boating accident at the untimely age of 19.

Landon Ward touched the lives of many with his cheerful and kind nature.

He graduated from Prime Line Academy in Heyburn, Idaho, in August 2026, having completed an intensive program that prepared him for a career in the electrical utility industry.

During his time at the academy, he earned his Class A CDL and gained hands-on experience with equipment, pole setting, and both aerial and underground line work.

Following his graduation, Landon planned to pursue a career as a lineworker and contribute his skills to the power and utility sector.

Additionally, Landon Ward enjoyed riding a bike and driving a truck.

Furthermore, the tragic accident and untimely demise of Landon Ward have left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Landon and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

His younger sister, Avenlie ‘Avie’ Ward, a varsity cheerleader captain at Apple Valley High School, posted a heartfelt tribute to him featuring several pictures from their childhood.

Avie began by expressing her sorrow and wrote:

“Forever 19 🤍 Landon – words can’t express the amount of love and respect I have for you. God knew what he was doing when he chose you to be my older brother. I will forever cherish every memory we made together growing up, and hold those memories so near to my heart. You absolutely never failed to put a smile on my face or make me laugh, and you always knew how to have fun.”

Avie further remembered her late brother was an extremely caring, loving, hardworking, passionate, encouraging, radiant, and the most hilarious soul.

She added that whoever had the chance to know Landon is so blessed, and that she is more blessed than she could have ever imagined, having been his little sister.

Avie also spoke highly of her late brother, Landon, and how he accomplished so many amazing things at such a young age, regarding him as her biggest inspiration to be strong and give her best every day.

“You taught me everything that I know today Landon. I’ll always love the way we could go from laughing to having a deep conversation. You always gave me the best advice, and I will live by that each day. Thanks for letting me always ride shotgun in your big truck. We had the most amazing childhood, and teenage years together. It’s not easy losing my best friend, but Landon I know you are watching over our family from heaven. I’m gonna live for you Landon. May you rest in peace sweet boy, I can’t wait to hug you again one day and see your smile, I love you endlessly Landon.”

Landon Ward is Also Survived By His Parents, Stefanie and Chris, His Little Brother, Luke, and The Whole Family

In addition to his sister, Avenlie ‘Avie’ Ward, Landon Ward is survived by his loving parents, Stefanie and Chris Ward, and his youngest brother, Luke Ward.

While his father, Chris Ward, hasn’t shared much as he prefers to maintain a low profile and is currently grieving the loss of his eldest child, Landon’s mother, Stefanie Ward, paid tribute to him on social media.

Stefanie Ward shared a beautiful picture of Landon Ward and wrote:

“We have no words. I don’t think us as parents, or his siblings, could be more proud of the man he was. He had the biggest, most Christ like heart.We love you beyond words Landon and can’t wait to hug you again one day.”

While very little information is available about Landon’s father, Chris’s, professional life, his mother, Stefanie Ward, is excelling in her career as a realtor in Victorville, CA.

After serving for 17 years asin Apple Valley, California, Stefanie began her career as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Home Source.

She often shares pictures of her three kids, Landon, Avie, and Luke, expressing her love and pride for them.

The untimely passing of Landon Ward has left his parents, siblings, and whole family heartbroken. His family and loved ones will continue to cherish his memory and remember him as a great human being.
