“Today is a tough day for Delsea Football and the Franklinville community as we mourn the loss of one of our own,” Smith .
“When you lose a player it feels like you lost a family member. RIP Bailey Lenny. I appreciated your upbeat sense of humor and your love for the game. Thanks for the memories. Prayers to Lena Jester and family.”
Bailey’s mother, Lena Jester, has been open about the pain of losing her son in the tragic car accident.
She described the heartbreaking reality of life without Bailey and the unshakable bond they shared.
“On 8/16/25 my soul was shattered,” she wrote.
“When the car accident took you, it took me too. I wish I was at the scene to hold you, kiss you, pray over you. You were always a Mama’s boy and will be forever. I will never be the same.”
Lena reflected on raising Bailey as a single mother, recalling how he became her purpose in life.
“It was you and me from the start. I raised you, but you taught me so much. As a single 18-year-old mom, you were my why. I don’t know how I can go on without you.”
In her grief, she shared how Bailey’s absence has left her broken.
“The pain and heartache when I got the news is indescribable and gut-wrenching. My soul was ripped out of me. I am really struggling without you, son. I slept in your room every day since and not sure I’ll ever stop. Nothing about me will be the same.”
Though Bailey’s life was tragically cut short, his impact continues to resonate.
He is remembered as a devoted son, a loyal friend, and a dedicated athlete whose sense of humor and spirit uplifted those around him.
His teammates and coaches describe him as someone who carried himself with toughness on the field and kindness off it, leaving behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.
As Lena expressed through her tears, Bailey’s love remains eternal:
“I love you so much, Bailey. You will always be in my heart. I love you today, tomorrow, and always.”
