Lakeland, Florida Mourns 27-Year-Old Former Adams Central High School Multi Sports Athlete Jesse Grimmett, Survived by Wife Nina and Family

Lakeland, Florida, and Hastings, Nebraska, communities are mourning the untimely death of a renowned realtor and former athlete, Jesse Grimmett.

Jesse Grimmett passed away earlier this week at the age of 27. Details surrounding his untimely death have not yet disclosed by his family members.

A native of Nebraska, Jesse Grimmett was a cherished member of Hastings’ sports community and touched the lives of many with his contagious smile.

The late stood out as a gifted multi-sport athlete at Adams Central High School in Hastings, Nebraska, where he graduated in 2016.

At 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, Jesse brought size, skill, and versatility to every court he stepped on, earning recognition in both basketball and tennis.

On the basketball court, Jesse wore No. 32 for the Adams Central Patriots and played primarily at small forward and shooting guard.

During his senior season in 2015, he helped lead the varsity team to an impressive 25–5 overall record and a perfect 9–0 district mark, finishing first in the district.

That year, he ranked among the top players in Nebraska, placing 20th in the state and earning a national ranking of No. 1471. His ability to score, defend, and adapt to multiple roles made him a dependable presence and a valued teammate.

Jesse also contributed during his junior and sophomore seasons, showing steady growth and consistency.

As a junior in 2014, he helped guide Adams Central to a 21–5 record, while earning strong state and national rankings.

Earlier, as a sophomore, he competed wearing No. 12 and continued to develop the foundation that defined his later success.

Beyond basketball, Jesse excelled in tennis, competing at the JV level and demonstrating the same discipline and competitive spirit that marked his basketball career.

Late Jesse Grimmett Also Served in The Army and Was an Amazing Realtor

In addition to being an amazing athlete, the late Jesse Grimmett also touched the lives of many in the community as an Army veteran and realtor.

Jesse proudly served in the U.S. Army for six years and continued his journey serving in the Florida National Guard before his untimely demise.

Additionally, was a fourth generation realtor, starting his great grandpa dating back to the 1950s. He was working for the Live Florida Realtor in Lakeland, Florida.

In his free time, he loved playing sports, fishing, and doing outdoor activities.

The untimely death of Jesse Grimmett has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Many of his loved ones are recalling his memories on social media and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this heartbreaking moment.

The Jacksonville, Florida, community has also created a GoFundMe to support Jesse’s family and ease their financial burden as they continue to navigate the loss and organize funeral and memorial expenses.

Jesse Grimmett is survived by his beloved wife, Nina Grimmett, his mother, Dayna Grimmett, his father, his siblings, and the entire family.

Dayna Grimmett took to her social media to pay tribute to her late son, Jesse Grimmett, and shared a heartfelt post that reads:

“My baby boy is gone. Life will never be the same without him. I’d give anything for one more of his amazing bear hugs and to hear him say “Mom I love you” one more time. He always sent me this song to listen to because he knew it it brightened my day. I miss you so much sweet Jesse that I don’t know how to go on without you I’m so glad you are finally free of the pain. Love you always and forever and I hope that I will see you again real soon.”

His family will soon provide details about Jesse’s funeral and memorial services. His remarkable contribution to the community will always be remembered.
