A mother named Mayte Carranza took to Facebook to share what happened to her son during a youth football game between Corcoran and Exeter 14U Seniors on October 26, 2026.
In the post, she said that her son got his neck twisted and then his own Exeter coach straight-up kicked him.
This incident occurred during the All Valley Youth Football League’s Corcoran versus Exeter 14U Seniors matchup in Central California.
Furious and heartbroken, Carranza shared the story with videos from the game, which show the very moment her son was kicked.
Parents and others watching the clips say it looks clear as day that it wasn’t an accident.
Rae Claire shared the post writing:
I’m rushing the field. Ain’t no way.

After the video went viral, Exeter Youth Football League released a statement, which reads:
We have been made aware of an incident that occurred on Saturday during our playoff game.
This situation is under further review. Discussion has taken place with the necessary parties. More information and evidence was brought forward and is being considered before a ruling is determined.

“We appreciate your patience and concern. We understand the gravity of the situation. The safety and health of all athletes is the primary focus and responsibility for All Valley Youth Football, Exeter Youth Football, and all other participating towns,” the post read.
Katlyn A. Smith, who runs another sports program, took to to share her thoughts on the Exeter Youth Football League’s statement.
She watched both video angles and called out Exeter Youth Football for how they’re handling it.
As someone in charge of a league, she said kicking your own player has no place in the game.
As President of another sports program and league, I feel it’s important to state clearly: there is no excuse for a coach to kick a player, his own or another team. Both video angles make it clear that this was not accidental.
“A coach’s role is to guide, mentor, and protect players, not to harm them physically or emotionally,” she added.
Smith pointed out that when something like this gets caught on camera, there shouldn’t be any long debates or excuses. She feels it breaks trust and hurts the whole spirit of youth sports.
Exeter put out a post trying to downplay it, but she sees that as dodging responsibility.
The community wants answers and concrete steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again in local football.
