Mason Musgrove, a former athlete, recently shared the heartbreaking news that his mother, Mary Bayles, passed away on August 30, 2026.

Mary Bayles is survived by her husband of 12 years, Scott Bayles, and her three sons: Mason Musgrove and his wife, Sarah; Bryce Melhuish and his wife, Bianca; and Ethan.

Following her sudden demise, Scott, her husband, with whom she had been married since November 30, 2012, shared a picture from their wedding. He wrote:

Goodbye my Love! 🥹 Rest well in the arms of our Savior, Thank you for sharing this life with me, my heart hurts really bad but my spirit rejoices in your freedom. Until I see you again, I will keep a loving eye on all those you hold dear. I love you.

The unexpected loss came as a shock to her family. Son Mason took to social media to express his grief and celebrate the life of a woman who meant so much to so many.

Sadly, Mary’s passing came just two months after Mason walked down the aisle with Sarah.

That said, Mason thinks she was in the crescendo of her motherhood, for she got to experience a sound time when her family came together, relationships were healed, and love filled the air.

He described it as a time when everything she worked so hard for as a mother unfolded before her eyes.

Everything she wanted us to feel, receive and be blessed with was happening in front of her eyes. I cannot think of another thing she would have wanted to experience in her final stretch of life.

Mason shared a few cherished photos of his mother from the wedding. But he knows there are more photos out there, and he’s asking for help to collect them for her memorial service.

Likewise, Mary’s son, Bryce, also broke his silence on her untimely demise. He penned a lengthy eulogy on his Facebook, writing:

Mom loved seeing people together. It didn’t matter who you were. Everyone was family, and she treated everyone like she was their mom. I love that about her.
I love you Mama, I miss you so much already.

The memorial service for Mary Bayles is scheduled for next Wednesday, September 10, at New Life Family Church, Gulf Coast, which is located at 362 Popp’s Ferry Rd, Biloxi, MS.

The day will start with a private service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM for family and close friends. Then, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, an open service will welcome everyone who wants to join and honor Mary.

After the service, at 5:00 PM, everyone is invited to Mary’s home at 2466 Provence Place, Biloxi, MS, to share food, memories, and even a swim.

Mason says this is exactly what his mom would have wanted, saying:

There is not much more she loved doing rather than hosting and being the reason people were fed, smiling, and making memories.

Likewise, Mason also welcomes all who knew Mary, whether old friends or new, to come and share stories about her. As Mason put it, in his mom’s eyes, “the more the merrier,” and everyone was family.

During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Mary’s husband, kids, friends, and extended family.

Rest Easy, Mary Bayles!
