Chesne Hannah Long, the daughter of Brent and Kristen Stephen Long, was born on August 1, 2006, in Cambridge, Ohio. Her parents raised her in a close-knit family alongside her brother, Beckett Long.

Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly at the age of 19.

Long’s life was brief, but it was all about joy, kindness, and spirited accomplishment.

She brought an unwavering warmth and laughter into every room, forever brightening the lives of her family and countless friends.

Away from the court, she found happiness in music, in the companionship of her cat, Luca, and in riding her horse, Saylor. She was a faithful member of the Caldwell Church of Christ.

It’s an unimaginable tragedy that leaves a void. I’ve known this young lady and her family for 14 plus years. I’ve become friends and acquaintances with her parents, brother, grandparents, aunt, and uncle. Wonderful people. May GOD wrap his arms around them, her friends, classmates, and the community and provide loving comfort.

Long’s loving spirit endures in the hearts of her grieving parents and brother.

She is survived by her aunt Carrie Long; great-uncle and great-aunt Richard and Carolyn Rutherford; special cousin Danny Wilson; uncle Jedidiah (Katie) Stephen; cherished cousins Rhian, Allie, and Kolton Stephen; great-aunts and great-uncles Donna (Tim) Boyd, Denise (Jim) Wells, Lisa (Larry) Cowgill, Jason (Jenn) Stephen, Carla Cook, Shari (David) Gann, and Stacy (Bob) Guy; many special cousins.

Similarly, she shared a close bond with her grandparents, Galen and Candie Long; grandmother Shila “Shinny” Stephen; and great-grandmothers Shirley Stephen and Sue Forshey.

On the other hand, she was preceded in death by her hero, her Pap Kevin Stephen, whom she missed every day; her great-grandfathers Carl Forshey and Dale Stephen; and her uncle Darrel Forshey.

The Long family will receive friends and family for visitation on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell.

Pastor Kris Bright will officiate a funeral service on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Pap in Olive Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Chesne’s honor to the Caldwell Booster, Volleyball Program, PO Box #60, Caldwell, OH 43724.

Long’s physical presence is gone, but the echo of her laughter, strength, kindness, and love will live on in every heart she touched. She will be profoundly missed forever.

Rest In Peace, Chesne Hannah Long.
