The Camden community is devastated by the death of 26-year-old former Camden High School athlete Premire Wilson, who was shot and killed on Chase Street on November 6, 2026.
Known for his warmth and determination, Wilson leaves behind a legacy of grit on the football field and kindness off it.
Early that Thursday morning, at around 6:41 a.m., Camden County Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1200 block of Chase Street.
Officers found Wilson unconscious on the porch of a home, suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Cooper University Hospital but was pronounced dead at 7:25 a.m.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez confirmed the details.
