Hundreds of Tributes Pour

Tributes poured in from friends and community members. Trevor Mullen wrote, “I am not completely sure I’ll ever find the words for this one. The center of many cherished memories. Go rest easy my man and continue to hit ’em straight. You will be greatly missed.”

Longtime friend Kourtney Caldwell recalled childhood weekends at Skateworld and parties, adding, “Wherever we were, trouble was sure to follow and LOTS and LOTS of laughter… I’ll always wish for one more conversation with you. Love you forever — I will miss you always, Drewbie.”

Kourtney Caldwell also added a heartfelt Tribute,

“Dreeeeew; this one hurts to write. Our paths crossed at 10 years old and I can count on one hand how many weekends didn’t consist of us together at Skateworld, walking to each other’s houses, parties at mine, or hangin’ at Alex’s. Wherever we were trouble was sure to follow and LOTS and LOTS of laughterWe were constantly in trouble for calling each other’s house phones long after 9pm. Me, you and Trey fought like brother and sister. You guys getting gum in my hair and my grandma trying for hours to get it out in 4th grade. Our friendship went on through middle school, high school and college. You were always life of the party, someone I could count on to listen or just make me laugh. I’ll always wish for one more conversation with you.”

Alex Jackson also acknowledged his humility, “Sending prayers to his family. I had minimal interactions with Drew, but the ones I did have, he was ALWAYS so kind! Rest easy.”

Local social-media reactions expressed shock and grief: “So, so heartbreaking. Makes me sick to my stomach!,” wrote Colleen Watters.

In contrast, many others posted prayers, hugs, and memories, comments like “Prayers to the Brinker family,” “Heartbreaking,” and “He will be deeply missed” repeated across posts.

A private memorial will be held. The family asks that, in place of flowers, friends honor Drew’s memory by playing a round of golf.

Also, at this time, individuals are requested to respect the privacy of his wife, Mallory, his parents, and all close family and friends.
