The community is mourning the loss of Dalton Ausley, a beloved former baseball player turned farmer, who passed away recently.

Dalton’s life was marked by talent, hard work, and the deep respect of those who knew him.

A Promising Baseball Career

Dalton was a standout athlete during his time at Harnett Central High School, where he played as a catcher and earned All-Conference and MVP honors.

Standing 6’1” and known for his strong arm and competitive spirit, he was admired both on and off the field.

After high school, Dalton pursued a degree in Business Administration/Management at Fayetteville Technical Community College, beginning in 2026.

He was also deeply committed to his work as a farmer at Ausley Farms LLC, a role he had held since 2015.

Dalton was the son of Marty Ausley and Wanda Norris and lived in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.

Heartfelt Tributes

Friends, coaches, and community members have expressed their grief and love for Dalton through touching messages:

One friend shared:

“You never know what burden someone has on themselves. Life isn’t fair. I never thought I’d see the day I’d lose a good friend like this. If anyone ever needs to talk, I’m here. Rest easy my friend Dalton.”

A former coach remembered:

“Dalton was one of the most respectful and polite young men you could ever meet. Chris and I had the honor to coach him alongside his dad Marty. Tyler always wanted Dalton as his catcher. This family is hurting, please pray for them.”

Another friend reflected:

“When people ask why I take so many pictures, this is why… one day you’ll need them. Heaven is a little brighter with you in it, Dalton. So many prayers for his family.

Dalton’s passing has left a deep void in the lives of his loved ones and the community.

His kindness, sportsmanship, and work ethic will be remembered by all who knew him.

May he rest in peace, and may his family and friends find comfort in the many lives he touched.
