Allegations are circulating about former Springtown ISD coach and teacher Tye Adams, who now faces renewed scrutiny over past relationships with students.
Adams, who taught and coached at Springtown ISD in the early 2000s, is now accused of grooming a student who would later become his wife.
According to several community posts and shared evidence on social media, Adams first became romantically involved with his current spouse when she was a sophomore student at Springtown High School.
The available suggested that he left the district shortly after, only to return later in 2007 following their marriage.
Critics argue that Adams and his wife openly referenced their early relationship, treating it as a love story rather than acknowledging the problematic dynamics between a teacher and a minor student.
A Facebook handle named Turkey Talk to their official handle and allegedly wrote,
“They both apparently spoke openly about their ‘love affair,’”
Social media users took to the comment section and raised their concerns. Taylor Walton wrote,
This definitely isn’t the first time this has happened with a coach in Springtown and probably not the last unfortunately..
Joe Heliker, a graduate of Springtown High School, ,
Any Springtown men’s coach from 05 to 09 were pedofiling too, mostly to the cheerleaders and track girls
Additionally, Elizabeth Garrison wrote,
gets out notebook and flips to currently page reason 457 I feel justified in homeschooling my kids….
Beyond the marriage timeline, additional complaints about Adams have surfaced. Some students claim that their concerns about his behavior were dismissed when raised to adults in positions of authority.
One former student reportedly expressed discomfort after Adams allegedly played with her hair, only to be told she was “overreacting” and that such behavior was “just how he is.”
Further complicating the issue are the personal connections between Adams and some of the families within the district.
Reports showcased that the parents of one alleged victim went to high school with Adams himself.
Another detail raising eyebrows involves the alleged victim receiving a considerable full scholarship shortly after the controversy gained traction.
While there is no confirmed connection, some community members speculate that the scholarship may have been coincidental or somehow tied to efforts to manage the fallout.
However, more complaints are reportedly being filed, though no official statements from Springtown ISD or legal authorities have confirmed whether a formal investigation is underway.
