A beloved coach, mentor, and mother, Holly Lindley, took her last breath on Friday, November 21, 2026, at the age of 49.

Sadly, she passed away just 5 days short of celebrating her 50th birthday on November 26, 2026.

Thus far, details about her sudden demise remain concealed as her family is processing the grief in private.

Holly Lindley is survived by her husband of 25 years, Lance Lindley, and their two daughters, Landry and Addison Lindley.

Lance and Holly had been happily married for over two decades since July 8, 2000.

Her husband, Lance Lindley, is the Game Warden for Wheeler and Collingsworth counties.

Their eldest, Landry, graduated from WTAMU in May with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Their daughter, Addison, stepped into Holly’s footsteps; she plays varsity volleyball at West Texas High School.

So far, neither her husband nor her daughters has broken their silence surrounding her sudden passing.

After graduating from high school, she attended Clarendon College for a couple of years, then graduated from WTAMU with a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science and a minor in Biology.

I have been the head volleyball coach at West Texas High School for the last 2 years and the jv/assistant varsity coach the year prior.

Right after the news broke, Facebook lit up with long, emotional posts from current and former players, parents, and friends.

People shared pictures, told stories, and promised to keep playing hard for her, and just tried to put into words how much she meant to them.

One of the posts that hit everyone the hardest came from Jaycee Anne Sewell, one of Holly’s seniors this year.

Jaycee took to her to express her grief. She wrote that she got the terrible phone call on Friday morning and had to be the one to tell her teammates.

She talked about how Holly saw something special in her, gave her big opportunities for her last high school season, and became way more than just a coach.

Jaycee promised she wouldn’t waste any of those chances and would keep making Coach proud. She ended it with “I love you so much Coach… Holly Jones Lindley.

Another mom, Lora Dodson, about how Holly loved her daughters, Jaycee and little sister Tinlee, like they were her own.

She remembered Holly joking about failing Jaycee in elementary just to keep her one more year, and how Tinlee still checked on Tinlee every single day with calls and texts, no matter how late.

Thus far, her family hasn’t released any details about Holly’s funeral and memorial services.

During this challenging time, we pray for the strength of Holly’s husband, daughters, students, friends, and extended family.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Holly Jones Lindley!
