Erin played club soccer for Fremont Youth Soccer Club, which ultimately led her to a college soccer career.

Erin Montoya, previously known as Erin Martinez, played collegiate soccer at Santa Clara University, where she was one of just eight Broncos to notch over 100 career points and helped lead her team to the 1996 NCAA College Cup.

She then played professionally for the San Diego Spirit in the Women’s United Soccer Association and represented the U.S. on youth national teams.

After her playing career, Erin became a highly successful youth coach, winning numerous championships and co-founding the Montoya Soccer Academy (MSA) alongside Albertin.
