Savannah Shayleen alleges that Abel R. Castañeda, a Harlingen football coach, is racist and often drives by her brothers and calls them the N-word.

When her mother confronted him, he pulled out a gun on her brother and mom as well.

The power of words can build people up or tear them down.

Some words carry a heavy history of pain and oppression. The N-word is one of the most potent and harmful examples.

It is deeply tied to the history of slavery, segregation, and violence against Black people. It was used as a weapon to dehumanize, insult, and enforce racial hierarchy for centuries.

The N-word is meant to make people feel inferior and worthless, and using the word today is an act of racism. It shows a disregard for history and a profound lack of respect for Black people.

Ultimately, respecting the impact of this word is a fundamental part of fighting racism. Choosing not to use the N-word is a simple but powerful step toward building a more respectful and equal world for everyone.

Harlingen Football Coach Accused of Pulling a Gun on Teens and Their Mother

A serious allegation has been made against Harlingen football coach Abel R. Castañeda following a confrontation with a family in his neighborhood.

According to Savannah Shayleen, the incident began when Castañeda allegedly pulled a gun on her brother and his friend, who are Black.

Shayleen claims this is part of a pattern of racist harassment, alleging that Castañeda frequently drives by her brothers, calls them the N-word, and hurls other insults.

She states that when her mother confronted him about pulling the gun, he then pointed the weapon at her mother as well.

Shayleen further alleges that Castañeda boasted he could “do anything he wants” because the Harlingen Police Department is “on his side.”

She claims that when her mother reported the incident, police dismissed the video evidence, saying it only showed Castañeda’s arm moving.

This dude thinks he has audacity the privilege to disrespect little kids and adults😬but demands the respect back🙄Be for real. You’re just one little racist, piece of shit lowlife, that can’t even take care of his own family right but wants to go and talk shit about others instead. And instead of focusing on little girls, you should go focus on your family.

In a sharp rebuttal posted online, Abel R. Castañeda denied all accusations.

He stated he is being “falsely accused” of something he would never do and insisted he does “not have a racial part in life.”

Castañeda claims the other party used the racial slur against him and that he was only protecting his family. He said he felt threatened by “multiple people” in front of his home while his young son and wife were outside.

I am a person who has always given back to the community whether it’s football or giving back to the community by giving free food to first responders during disasters. I have been falsely accused of doing something that I would never do. I never used the N word like being acussed of which in fact the other party used it at me the whole time. I only did what any father would have done to protect his family during this incident.

The Harlingen Police Department has not released an official statement.

The situation presents two different accounts, with one family alleging racist aggression and a coach maintaining he was a father defending his home.
