Ju’Lius Byers, a dedicated and passionate 14-year-old freshman at Liberty High School, suffered a career-ending injury that has changed his life instantly.
He was playing in his first high school football game of the season when the tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, September 3, 2026.
Ju’Lius Byers, known affectionately as “JuJu,” made a name for himself as a dedicated and passionate multi-sport athlete at Liberty High School.
His love for competition is apparent from his involvement in Basketball, track and field, and his favorite sport, football. His commitment to each sport showed his natural athletic talent, strong work ethic, and team-oriented spirit.
He had a clear vision for his high school career and dreamed of playing on the Liberty High School football team for all four years.
However, his ambitions extend far beyond the high school field. His recent field trip to Missouri Western State University had a profound impact on him, solidifying his decision to pursue a football career at the collegiate level.
Sadly, his aim to play football for the University of Missouri Western College after he graduates was crushed due to a career-ending injury.

On September 3, Ju’Lius Byers, a high school football player, suffered a devastating spinal injury during his first varsity game.
