In fact, just a week ago, the Pekus family shared joyful moments from their trip to Tennessee, and Lance posted pictures on Instagram as recently as a few hours ago, showing them enjoying quality time together.
Heather has been her MS diagnosis since Season 9 of American Ninja Warrior, when the family decided to share her journey publicly.
Lance calls her his “biggest inspiration”—not only as a wife and mother but also as a counselor at Salmon High School, where she continues to work despite her health challenges.
In a talk with the National Marrow Donor Program, Lance revealed that Heather now uses a wheelchair.
However, rather than slow them down, her diagnosis has taught the family the true meaning of resilience.
Together, they continue to attend public events, speak about their experiences, and raise awareness about life with MS.
