Spartan family member Jean Paul “JP” Muhire passed away on November 12, 2026, in a tragic car crash at the young age of 22.

Thus far, the details surrounding the circumstances of his accident remain concealed.

Jean is survived by his parents, siblings, including Joshua Irumva Fit, and numerous extended family members.

Joshua Irumva Fit, JP’s brother, shared a heart-wrenching message, which reads:

Rest well my baby brother. Thank you to those who have helped and those who will help. Our family appreciate your support during these difficult moments. 😭😭

He also shared the link to GoFundMe to help his family during this challenging time.

Delphine Ntegeye created a GoFundMe account, which reads:

JP was vibrant, kind, and deeply involved in his community. He had a gentle spirit that touched the lives of his classmates and friends, a welcoming smile that made you feel seen, and a generous heart that always made space for others.
He was a devoted son and brother who brought so much joy and promise into the lives of his family.

\Now the family has to deal with funeral costs, burial arrangements, and legal stuff on top of their grief.

Hence, the fundraiser is there to cover those bills, allowing them to focus on being together and healing.

Following his demise, the MSU women’s basketball team shared the sad news on social media, writing:

Our program is so much better because JP was a part of it. We remember him for his kind nature, strong work ethic, reliability, and his bright smile.
Rest in peace, JP🤍

Thus far, details surrounding his funeral and memorial services haven’t been published by his family.

During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of his parents, siblings, friends, and extended family members.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Jean Paul Muhire!
