Viral Bullying Video from Milnerton High School Leads to Suspension of Eight, Including Rugby Player Briint Davids
On October 21, 2026, a video went viral on social media showing a few boys in school uniforms assaulting other students.
The video shows a Grade 10 learner being physically and verbally attacked by a group of older boys.
Although it is not clearly visible in the video, reports indicate that the attackers used objects such as belts, a hosepipe, and sticks during the assault.
The incident reportedly occurred on October 16, 2026, shortly after school hours.
Following the incident, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) took action and suspended eight learners, reportedly including rugby player Briint Davids.
While the full list of suspended learners has not been officially released, media reports suggest that Briint Davids is one of them, along with other members of the school’s first-team rugby squad.
Since the authorities have not made the matter official, community members have been sharing their thoughts and knowledge on social media.
One Facebook post appeared to be from the father of the victim in the video, in which he shared the footage and sought help from the community.
Following the circulation of the video, many commenters expressed support for the victim and called on the authorities to arrest the bullies. One of the comments said;
These boys need to be arrested so that no one dares to do this again to another child and if left unattended or ignored by the school and the police this is a cancer that will penetrate through the school.And I wonder as a parent you see such a video of your son bullying others does that make you fee l proud or you take action against it
Moreover, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Western Cape has initiated a criminal investigation into the assault.
As of now, no arrests have been publicly confirmed.
The police are actively reviewing the video footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the perpetrators and determine appropriate charges.
