My Son Was Blamed, Bullied, and Hurt at Football Practice for Something He Didn’t Do: Mississippi Parents

A mother from Mississippi, Brandii Set TheTone, shared her son’s painful experience at junior high football practice on Facebook.

She explained that her son was wrongly accused of doing something he didn’t do. As a result, the entire team was punished.

Even though her son insisted he was innocent, the coach made the team run until someone confessed.

Brandii said her son came home upset, and after talking with him, she was sure he was telling the truth.

Mississippi Mother Wrote, “He Deserves the Same Respect He Gives”

During the punishment, ’s son was bullied by teammates, pushed, tripped, and elbowed while trying to keep up with the drills.

She was deeply hurt by what he went through and made it clear that no child should be treated that way, guilty or not.

In her post, she encouraged her son to stand up for himself and not take the blame for something he didn’t do, saying:

If you know you didn’t do it, don’t take the fall for it stand tall to WHOEVER.

Additionally, she called out the coach’s actions and said she doesn’t accept bullying in any form, saying:

Coach WHOEVER

If You Have To Quit Do Jus That .. WE AINT ACCEPTING NO BULLYING OVER HERE

WE ALL TREAT EACHOTHER EQUAL.. & RESPECT EVERYONE’S PERSONAL SPACE.

Her message was strong; every child deserves respect and fair treatment.

with support. One commenter wrote,

Tell him I said keep his head up and from now on I got him right or wrong—that’s like a lil brother to me. Sad the coaches wouldn’t let me do nun about it but I got him.

Likewise, others praised her for speaking out bravely.

Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard. Stop Bullying.
