NBA Star and Slam Dunk Contest Winner, Mac McClung’s Parents, Marcus and Lenoir McClung Are of White Ethnicity

Mac McClung, the guard for the NBA team, the Indiana Pacers, was born to Marcus and Lenioir McClung. Both of his parents’ ethnicities are White.

Marcus and Lenior attended Virginia Tech University and started dating during their time at College, before eventually marrying and raising two kids.

Marcus, like his son, was also a college athlete, but he excelled in football rather than basketball. On the other hand, Mac’s mother was a Cheerleader at Virginia Tech.

Mac’s family is not proficient in one or two, but numerous sports. His sister, Anna McClung Ray, is a University of Texas Soccer alumna.

The sports culture in the family and father’s influence has definitely helped Mac to where he is now, from playing University basketball to Debuting in the NBA at just 22 years of age.

G League To the Rescue!

He was already a high-profile high school recruit before he joined Georgetown, and eventually switched to Texas Tech University.

Despite getting undrafted after he declared for the NBA Draft in 2026, he grinded it up in the G League.

After having a great run with the South Bay Lakers, he signed a 10-day hardship contract and made his NBA debut for the Chicago Bulls against the Hawks on December 29, 2026.

His next game in the NBA came against the Denver Nuggets on April 10, 2026, while playing for the LA Lakers, after he signed a short-term deal with the team.

He was given a chance to play the final game of the season as they were out of playoff contention.

After tearing up in the G-League and winning a couple of Slam Dunk contests, and switching NBA teams regularly, he has finally made his presence felt in the league.

He was handed his Indiana Pacers debut against the Dallas Mavericks on October 28, 2026. He scored seven points in 12.6 minutes.
