Page County Softball Player Cassie Nichole Hutton, 28, Passes Away, Leaving Her Beloved Family

Cassie Nichole Hutton, a former girls’ softball player at Page County High School, passed away at the age of 28 on October 15, 2026.
Her generous heart, vibrant spirit, and infectious smile had brought light, love, and laughter to everyone who knew her.
Cassie was a proud graduate of Page County High School, remembered for her passion and dedication both on and off the field.
During her time at the high school, she was a standout member of the Girls’ Softball team. Her talent and leadership helped the team win back-to-back state championships in 2014 and 2015.
Her love for the sport was perfectly captured at her graduation in 2015 when she received her high school diploma on the Radford University softball field.
Later, she graduated from Radford University in 2019 and worked at Massanutten Resort. Her legacy is one of triumph, team spirit, and a deep commitment to her passions.
It is with deep sorrow that I must inform the PCHS Class of 2015 about the tragic passing of fellow classmate Cassie Hutton. Cassie was much more than a classmate to many of us, she was a dear friend. You didn’t have to know Cassie to know that she was the type of person that would be there for you or just be someone that would be a listening ear in times of trouble.
Cassie Nichole Hutton’s Family Mourns the Tragic Loss
Cassie Nichole Hutton, the daughter of Brandy Rickard and John “Mickey” Hutton, was born on January 5, 1997. After the death of his loving father, her mother married Jamie.
She was a beacon of kindness and compassion who passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love that her family and friends will forever cherish.
Cassie’s memory will be lovingly honored by her grandparents, Danny and Dixie Waugh, and Carolyn Hutton.
Her parents, Brandy and Jamie; devoted sisters, Heather and her husband, Jeremiah Knight, and Brittany and her husband, Bryan Frymyer; many adored nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will hold her close in their hearts forever, survive her.
On the other hand, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ricky Courtney, Mike Hutton, Beverly Hansbrough Good, and Leon and Kay Rickard.
Cassie will be remembered for her compassionate heart and boundless love, which extended to all creatures.
Her , was her pride and joy. Their bond was extraordinary, and Ranger was a faithful companion and a constant source of comfort and happiness in her life.
Moreover, her spirit and kindness touched countless lives. She had a gift for making others feel seen, loved, and valued.
I’ll forever cherish our all-nighters spent studying, cramming for exams, and finishing assignments as well as all the fun nights, laughter, and unforgettable moments we shared at Radford.
Rest easy, my beautiful friend. I know you’re in heaven, reunited with your daddy. You’ll be missed.
Sadly, Cassie’s time was far too short, but the profound impact she made is everlasting. Her legacy of warmth, strength, and compassion will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
The Hutton family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, at the Blue Ridge Pentecostal Church.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, at the church. Burial will follow in the Stanley Adventist Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Page County Animal Shelter, reflecting Cassie’s caring nature and her love for animals.
Due to limited parking at the church, the family kindly encourages attendees to carpool if possible.
A good life is when you smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realize how blessed you are for what you have 💫💓
