Eli Meredith, a native of Leitchfield, Kentucky, reportedly lost his life in a tragic car crash.
Eli Meredith was a dedicated and passionate young athlete from Caneyville, Kentucky, who came into the world weighing 7 lbs 1 oz, with a full head of black hair and big brown eyes.
He played a variety of sports and consistently gave his all in everything he did, whether it was baseball, where he wore #3, or football as #23 for the Caneyville Raiders.
In the 2026 baseball season, he helped lead the Longhorns to first place in the regular season and ultimately claimed the championship title.
As per the , he also played basketball for GC Ballers, and his team secured second place in 2019.
Longhorns Baseball Player Eli Meredith Tragically Died In A Horrible Car Accident
As per several sources, Eli Waylon James Meredith passed away in July 2026 due to a horrible car accident at the age of 16.
However, the exact reason behind the accident has not been revealed yet as the investigation is ongoing.
Edi Atkins, an owner at RAI Systems, took to his official handle and offered his heartfelt condolences by stating,

Kay Hafford, a teacher at the Edmonson County 5/6 center, also took to her Facebook handle to Eli’s death and send prayers to the family. She wrote,
Please please stop and say a prayer for my cousin Tabatha Meredith and Clayton Meredith ‘s son Eli…he was in a horrible car accident and needs all the love and prayers he can get!!!
Kelsey Highbaugh, an english teacher at Edmonson County High School, also mourned Eli’s tragic loss by stating,
My heart is just broken. I love Eli to pieces and have adored having him in class the last two years. Praying for him and his family.
Other close ones and relatives have also poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Eli and his family to stay strong in this heartbreaking moment.
He will always be remembered for his unforgettable contributions to the Longhorns baseball team. The funeral service schedule for Eli will be announced soon.

Born on December 12, 2008, Eli Waylon James Meredith was raised by his father, Clayton Meredith, and his mother, Tabatha Meredith.
According to the , Eli’s parents got married on December 22, 2004.
Eli’s mother, Tabatha Meredith, graduated from Grayson County High School.
Since August 2, 2026, she has been serving as an instructional preschool aide at Clarkson Elementary School.
On the other hand, Eli’s father, Meredith, has been serving at Back To New LLC since June 29, 2026.
Clayton’s father, William Meredith, resides in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and attended Grayson County High School.
Eli is also survived by his , Maggie Meredith, who works at Little Explorers Childcare. He also has a little sister named Jamiyah.
Meredith has an older brother, Hunter Meredith, who is engaged to Deanna Decker of Anneta, Kentucky.
