MJ Publicover, a Quabbin Regional High School student-athlete, passed away in the morning on December 26, 2026, in a tragic car accident.
His sudden passing left a profound void in the community, and they gathered together to support the Publicover family.
MJ Publicover was a dedicated member of the Quabbin Regional High School Class of 2026.
He played football in the Boys Varsity team and brought speed and versatility to the field. He stood 5’11” and weighed 135lbs.
His football journey began with a strong foundation in youth sports.
Before high school, MJ honed his skills with the Chair City Lions, where he wore a jersey number 26 and played Quarterback and a Slotback.
His early experience prepared him for the competitive level of high school varsity play. He contributed to his team and represented his school with pride throughout his high school career.

MJ Publicover was the son of and . His parents raised him in a close-knit family alongside his brother, Jordan, in Winchendon, Massachusetts.
Sadly, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away in a tragic car accident on the morning of December 26, 2026.
MJ’s family was the cornerstone of his life, and the heartbreak of his loss is one no parent should ever have to endure.
His bright and energetic spirit defined him. He was the pulse of his neighborhood, turning the long, dog days of summer into seasons of laughter and adventure.
His genuine warmth and infectious joy earned him a special and permanent place in the hearts of his community.
MJ was a young man looking forward to life’s milestones. He was truly excited about the upcoming prom, where he planned to share the evening with his date, .

In the wake of this unimaginable loss, the community has rallied around the Publicover family with an outpouring of support.
to help Mike, Cheri, and Jordan navigate this horrific time. Meals can be dropped off between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. at their home, 202 Eli Drive, Winchendon, Massachusetts.
The family has no allergies, and these gestures, while small, are a heartfelt attempt to lighten their load.
Similarly, a wave of compassionate giving has provided financial support, with 136 people contributing $9,205 in donations. It showed how deeply his community holds his family in their thoughts.
This one hurts. MJ and Jamison played football together for years, and they were more than teammates; they were brothers. No parent should have to endure such heartbreak.
MJ Publicover’s light was extinguished far too soon. However, the memory of kindness, playful spirit, and loving nature will forever burn bright in the town of Winchendon.
The Publicover family will soon announce a memorial service to celebrate the life of a young athlete. He will be desperately missed and fondly remembered always.
