It is with heavy hearts that Rockwall ISD Athletics shares the passing of our very first athletics secretary, Judy Milby. For years, she served as a welcoming face, a trusted friend, and a foundational part of Rockwall ISD Athletics. Long before the growth of our programs and traditions, she helped build the heart of what our athletic department would become through her dedication, kindness, and unwavering support of students, coaches, and families.
Cody Stovall, a graduate of the University of North Texas, took to the comment section and wrote,
She was the sweetest. Her nickname for me was “Useless”…I’d hangout in the coaches office during my off period cause my dad was a coach there then, and she would tease me about doing nothing productive but would always ask me to run errands for her in the school. She’d say “thank you Useless” and smile. She cried the last day of school my senior yr when I came to her office to tell her goodbye. She was a wonderful person
Moreover, David Hoover wrote,
Judy was such a treasure to know. She absolutely knew how to take care of business at the Athletic Department, but always, always did so in such a way that showed her love for the school and the students in her care. We will miss her dearly.
Shelby Drum Morgan, a graduate of Tarleton State University, also .
I worked in Garland ISD in Athletics and always loved working with Judy. She was always so nice and compassionate, but also understood what our office was going through as well. It’s always nice to sound off with someone who understands, Judy always did. Prayers for her family during this time.
