The family of 11-year-old Sophia Raine Ballinger is facing an unimaginable crisis after Sophia attempted suicide on the evening of Monday, September 29th.

Sophia, a bright and loving sixth-grader at Portland West Middle School in Sumner County, Tennessee, is currently fighting for her life at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Allegations of bullying are under investigation, though no official confirmation has yet been made.

At the center of this ordeal is Sophia’s mother, Kisha Hammock, a single parent dedicated to raising her children with love and care.

Kisha has always worked tirelessly to support her family, providing for both Sophia and her 13-year-old brother while also helping others in her community.

With Sophia in critical condition, Kisha has taken time off from work to remain by her daughter’s side around the clock, supported by grandparents and family friends.

Kisha, a native of Westmoreland, Tennessee, Westmoreland High School and studied at the Ultimate Medical Academy in Tampa.

Her devotion to her children is evident in the way she has faced this crisis with courage, holding onto hope even in the darkest moments.

As she shared in a recent update, she remains faithful that God is at work and continues to ask for prayers for Sophia, demonstrating her resilience and unwavering love.

The Ballinger family has also received overwhelming community support.

Friends, neighbors, and concerned citizens have rallied around Kisha and her family, contributing to fundraising efforts and keeping Sophia in their thoughts and prayers.

The family hopes that sharing their story will raise awareness about bullying, suicide prevention, and the importance of mental health support for children.

Sophia’s parents, particularly her devoted mother Kisha Hammock, exemplify strength, love, and perseverance in the face of heartbreak.

Their story serves as both a plea for community support and a reminder that no child should ever face such challenges alone.
