Former Quad Cities sportscaster Jim Albracht passes away, leaving behind his wife, Meredith, and childrens.
At the time of his passing, Jim Albracht was living in Kansas City alongside his wife, Meredith.
While not much is known about his wife’s personal details, it is known that he lived many decades of a full and happy life with his beloved wife.
Jim’s friends and colleagues describe him as a devoted family man, so it is likely that he had children.

Jim Albracht Began His Broadcasting Journey From Local Sports!
Albracht was a native of the Quad Cities and grew up immersed in local sports culture
His broadcasting journey started at WQAD News 8, where he worked as a sportscaster covering regional teams and events
At WQUA, he hosted a show called “Sportsphone,” which by 1981 had expanded to air four nights a week for two and a half hours each night.
Over the years, his broadcasting extended beyond local radio/TV: he worked with the Iowa Hawkeye Radio Network and did play-by-play for the Quad City Steamwheelers.
Later in his career, he returned to radio broadcasting, hosting programs such as “Albracht in the AM” on WOC, demonstrating his longevity and adaptability across media.
Having a career in multiple fields, Jim managed to leave his mark everywhere, with his colleagues and fellow teammates mourning his loss.
