Educator and dedicated coach Ted Fisher passed away on September 26, 2026, in Greenwood, Indiana, at the age of 77.
Ted J Fisher was the Hall of Fame cross-country and track coach. For nearly four decades, Ted served as a teacher and cross-country and track and field coach at Decatur Central High School.
In the school, he brought both passion and profound dedication from 1970 until 2007.
In addition to his work in education and athletics, Ted was an active member of the High School Road Church of Christ.
Moreover, Ted Fisher had a love for music and found joy in leading songs and hymns during worship services.
Fisher is also an enthusiast of riding two wheels; he has ridden over 600,000 miles on two wheels, according to from one of his fellow riders.
Ted has left an indelible mark on the lives of countless students and faculty members. His influence extended beyond the halls of his school and into the broader Indiana high school athletic community.

Furthermore, the funeral will be held after a life viewing of Ted at Flanner Buchanan on October 10, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, and on October 11, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
The for Ted Fisher is scheduled to take place on October 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
