UCF Sports to Pay Tribute to Winter Springs High School Softball Player Kennedy Jackson, Who Tragically Died by Suicide

The Winter Springs High School and UCF sports communities are mourning the tragic loss of Kennedy Jackson, a talented softball athlete.
Kennedy was known for her exceptional skills and joyful spirit, leaving a lasting impact on her teammates, coaches, and friends.
As a standout player of the Winter Springs High School softball team, Kennedy always pushed to be the better version of herself and arrived early to practice.
The circumstances of her death are still under investigation, with the school officials and law enforcement confirming that it was a suicide.
Kennedy’s shocking passing comes within a week of other losses in Semihole Country, and people have highlighted the need for mental health support and the importance of community support.
A Tragic Loss
After the passing of the young athlete, UCF Softball wrote, “We are heartbroken to hear about the passing of Kennedy Jackson. Our staff had the privilege of getting to know her at our camp — she was full of energy, talent, and joy for the game. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, teammates, and all who loved her. Once a part of our softball family, always a part.”
They will honor her during the fall game tomorrow, October 18, at 6:55 PM local time.
Ohana Girls Softball team’s coach has also released a statement following Kennedy Jackson’s passing.
Yesterday was one of the most emotional days I’ve ever had as a father, friend, and coach in a very long time. I still can’t comprehend what happened.. maybe I never will.
Kennedy wasn’t just an elite player athlete.. she was part of our Ohana. It breaks my heart to think of the pain she was carrying inside that none of us could see.
My heart hurts for our very tight softball community, for her teammates, and for everyone who loveS Kennedy. You’ll always have a place in our hearts, on the field, and with our Ohana
He has also asked parents, adults, coaches, and guardians to look after their children, talk to them, and be aware if they are facing any issues.
Kristina Hooper has also launched a to provide support to the Jackson family during this challenging time.
Any contribution will be a great help for the family after the unbearable loss of their teenager.
Numerous donations and hundreds of tributes have been made in memory of Kennedy, whose kind and gentle nature will remain in the hearts of those who knew her best.
“She’s one of the best human beings I’ve ever come across in my time here in Seminole County. She was an amazing student and never caused issues or harm to anybody. I’m absolutely devastated. Please keep her family in your prayers. Kennedy Jackson, you will be missed,” Charles Carr.
While many people have offered condolences following the tragic loss, some have also raised questions about one’s mental state.
