Despite sharing the same middle name, Migiel Rojas, the shortstop for the LA Dodgers, is not related to former baseball player and TV Sports presenter, Cookie Rojas Rivas.
The confusion among MLB fans often arises from Cookie, as he does have a son, Mike Rojas, who mainly worked as a manager in minor league games, although he is already 62, which makes him over 25 years older than Miguel Rojas.

He later served as manager, coach, and Broadcaster. The five-time All-Star, although he never won a championship ring as a player or a coach, he is still recognized as one of the most influential Cubans in MLB history.
The Cuban was also inducted into the Kansas Royal Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame in 2013.
Completely different Nationalities
On the other hand, Miquel Rojas was born in Los Teques, Venezuela. The Shortstop made his MLB debut in 2014 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He later spent eight seasons with the Miami Marlins (from 2016 to 2026) before returning to the Dodgers.
His return to his old club was just a reunion, as he won the World Series Championships two years in a row: 2026 and 2026.
Rojas’ best season of his career came in 2026, when he hit approximately .284 with an on-base plus slugging line of around .412 and a 111 wRC+.
No other MLB teams had the triumph in the 2000s, before the Yankees, when they won three years straight from 1998 to 2000.
