Scott Guise, longtime Sports Information Director at York College of Pennsylvania, passed away in late 2026 after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was 52 years old. His friends and family members disclosed that he endured a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Despite this, he continued to serve York College athletics for as long as his health allowed.
Guise’s passing marks the end of a remarkable career devoted to student-athletes, coaches, and the broader York County community.

Scott Guise Was a Public Voice of York College Athletics!
was a director of Athletic Communications at York College of Pennsylvania and the public voice and record-keeper of York’s 23 intercollegiate athletic programs.
He served for over 25 years and became the second-longest tenured member of the athletic department.
Regarding his education, he graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1995 with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in Journalism.
That same year, he joined York College and began shaping its Athletic Communications office into a model program.
Over his tenure, he oversaw publicity for 23 intercollegiate teams, managed media relations, designed publications, and created the college’s athletics website.
He was responsible for nominating and publicizing 15 CoSIDA Academic All-America student-athletes and more than 185 nominees for academic awards.
In addition, he served on the ECAC-SIDA board and was a member of CoSIDA, earning respect across the collegiate athletics community.
Known for his professionalism and mentorship, he also worked closely with students and interns, helping shape future careers in sports communications.
Beyond his career, Scott was a , assistant director of Athletic Communications at Johns Hopkins. Likewise, he was a proud father to Carly and Shane.

His friends and colleagues are sharing a wave of tributes and heartfelt memories that highlight both his professional excellence and his personal warmth.
One colleague shared a heartfelt tribute, saying:
“I’m not sure what to say other than Scott Guise wrote the manual on how to do a job. He was simply the best Sports Information Director ever, at any school. He and I bonded a lot over the years… I was not prepared to lose him and while I appreciate his suffering being over, I am incredibly saddened. York College and all of York County lost a true gem. God speed my friend …”

“One thing that Scott Guise treasured more than YCP was his family. Over the years, he became a cherished member of many families. I was privileged to have known him during my college days and later during my coaching career. Knowing him has had a profoundly positive impact on my life. Scott fought a valiant battle, and I take comfort in knowing that he can now rest. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire YCP community, who will deeply miss him.
