LaMoiya Garfield, a mother from Poplar, shared a terrifying experience on Facebook involving her middle school sons, Easton and Weston.
In her post, she described how her boys were playing football outside their home in the Airport area when a woman approached them and asked if they knew where butter was.
The boys didn’t respond, and according to LaMoiya, the woman pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the ground toward them.
The boys ran inside, hysterical and shaken. LaMoiya immediately called dispatch and, along with Easton, drove around to locate the woman.
They spotted her, called the police again, and officers arrived quickly to arrest the suspect.
A Mysterious Woman Approaches the Boys Playing Football and Fires a Gun at the Ground!
LaMoiya, a mother, , fear, and gratitude in her post.
She recounted how her sons identified the woman to the police, and how the suspect had the nerve to say, “Well I didn’t shoot them,” before being taken away.
The woman also reportedly told an officer that she thought the boys were “something else.” This was the comment that LaMoiya found disturbing and confusing.
Additionally, she questioned whether the woman was under the influence of drugs, saying:
Was she that high on drugs that she couldn’t tell the difference between two middle school boys and whatever the f**k something else is.
At last, LaMoiya thanked the police for their swift response and her sister, Tamera, for helping to track down the suspect.
Furthermore, she ended her post with a vow to seek justice and a plea for action against people openly walking around and carrying guns.
Her post quickly drew attention and support from the community. One of her closest friends shared her relief, saying
Omg! Thankfully your boys are safe. I’m glad she was arrested and hopefully the judge makes an example of her. This shit needs to stop.
Another wrote,
Thank God they were not physically harmed. And thank God that she didn’t turn it on you. Prayers that once again they will feel safe. We are in a state of emergency.
Likewise, a third person added,
Thank God for His protection over the boys. That’s why it’s important to always pray for the hedge of protection over your children. Too many people on substance and drug abuse out there being controlled by evil. I’m grateful for their safety and the woman was jailed.
As the woman who shot toward the ground was arrested, authorities are now actively investigating the case.
