Toni Storm, a New Zealand-Australian professional wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling, recently made headlines with her powerful performance in defeating the undefeated Mercedes Moné.
On July 12, 2026, at AEW All In: Texas, Toni Storm successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship against Mercedes Moné.
The match was competitive, with both wrestlers trading strong moves. Storm won after hitting an avalanche, Storm Zero, handing Mercedes her singles loss in AEW. This win marks Storm’s fourth championship.
Furthermore, for her remarkable performance, she got a congratulatory post from several renowned wrestlers, but the one that grabbed people’s attention was from former Total Nonstop Action Wrestling star James Storm.
James Storm on his Instagram shared a post featuring a beautiful picture of him with Toni Storm with a caption that reads:

As soon as James Storm shared a post referring to Toni Storm as his sister, many began to wonder if the two wrestling stars are actually related.

Likewise, some social media posts have also referred to Toni Storm as James Storm’s niece; however, many believe that she is not related to James Storm.

However, despite sharing the same last name in the ring and both being professional wrestlers, Toni Storm is not related to James Storm.
Toni And James Storm Come From Different Familial Backgrounds
AEW star Toni Storm and former TNA star James Storm are not related and come from different countries and family backgrounds.
James Storm was born James Allen Cox on June 1, 1977, in Franklin, Tennessee, United States. No information about his parents is available as he prefers to keep them away from the limelight.
He tied the knot with his longtime partner, Dani McEntee, on March 30, 2011.
Furthermore, is the father of three adorable kids: a daughter, Makayla Ann Cox, born in 2005 from his previous relationship, and two sons, whom he shares with his wife Dani McEntee.
