Palmview High School Football Player Latwon Uribe, 16, Lost His Life In A Car Accident

Latwon Oscar Uribe was a 16-year-old from Mission, Texas, who tragically lost his life in a car accident on Saturday night, September 6, 2026.
The crash happened around 10:28 p.m. at the intersection of La Homa Road and 66th Street.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2026 Toyota Tacoma was driving west on 66th Street and failed to stop at a stop sign.
As a result, it crashed into Latwon’s 2006 GMC Envoy, which was heading north on La Homa Road.
The impact caused Latwon’s vehicle to spin, hit a fence and a utility pole, then flip over and land upside down in the southbound lane.
Sadly, Latwon died at the scene from his injuries.
The driver of the Tacoma was taken to DHR Health in Edinburg for a medical evaluation, and the crash remains under investigation.

Latwon Oscar Uribe was a freshman football player at Palmview High School in La Joya, Texas.
Wearing jersey #35, he was a . He played as both a wide receiver and a cornerback for the boys’ freshman football team.
As a high school student, Latwon was involved in academic and extracurricular life.
Beyond playing football, he enjoyed fishing, gaming, Paw Patrol, and firing up the grill for some BBQ.
He attended Freedom Life Church with his family and dreamed of becoming a welder so he could support his mother, Victoria Romero.

Additionally, there is also a GoFundMe campaign “,” created by his aunt, Priscilla Hernandez.
She shared that Latwon attended Freedom Life Church with his family and dreamed of becoming a welder so he could take care of his mother, Victoria Romero.

The main purpose of this campaign is to help cover the funeral expenses for Latwon Oscar Uribe.
Latwon Uribe’s mother, , shared a heartbreaking message following the tragic loss of her son, saying:
