A rising NFL star, Derrick Harmon, keeps his personal life away from the limelight; hence, details about his siblings remain unknown.
It appears Harmon prefers to focus on his football career and keep family details private.
That said, we do know that Harmon had a sound bond with his mother, Tiffany Saine, who passed away before seeing him play as a Steeler.
However, he was able to share the exciting news of being selected 21st overall in the 2026 NFL Draft with her before she took her last breath.
Tiffany Saine faced serious health challenges, including a stroke in 2026 that left her paralyzed on her left side and multiple brain surgeries throughout her childhood.
Despite these struggles, she played a significant role in his life, supporting him through thick and thin.
Harmon often spoke about her sacrifices in interviews. He was vocal about how much she meant to him, especially during his college years at Michigan State and Oregon.
It was her love and encouragement that pushed him to chase his dreams, even when times were tough.
Derrick Harmon’s Mother, Tiffany Saine, Had Several Brain Surgeries!
One of the most heartfelt moments of Harmon’s life came in 2026 when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In a media call right after being drafted on April 24, 2026, shared his emotions about his mother’s condition, saying:
It was a little bittersweet, man. My mom wasn’t with me, she’s at the hospital right now on life support, so that was a little bittersweet, because she worked just as hard as me to get to this moment.
Derrick HarmonHe planned to go straight to the hospital to tell her he was drafted. Harmon thankfully got the chance to share this life-changing news with his mother, though she couldn’t see him play for the Steelers.
Harmon also praised his mother’s toughness in the same call, saying,
Man, how resilient she was. I grew up with her having probably seven, eight brain surgeries. And after all those brain surgeries, man, she did not give up. She still took me to practice, still went to work.
Always in the back of my head from the beginning of my college career was, ‘Why can’t I keep going?’ If she can get up and she can keep going after brain surgeries
Tiffany Saine, as a single mother, worked long hours and made sacrifices. Henceforth, Harmon credits her for everything he has achieved to date and everything he hopes to achieve.
