Northridge Local School District band director Jacob Lorkovic passed away, leaving his fiance, to whom he was engaged in mid-2026.

Jacob Lorkovic, who was engaged in mid-2026, studied Music Education (Instrumental) and was part of the Class of 2026 at Miami University (Ohio, USA).

As a teacher at Northridge Local Schools, Jacob taught and coached many young talents, who now remember him fondly in their memories.

While the exact cause of death and time of Jacob Lorkovic’s passing have not been disclosed, it is allegedly reported that he passed away before New Year’s Eve.

Jacob was a beloved teacher to many young talents, and he was also a cherished partner to his longtime fiance.

As Jacob led a relatively private life, not much is known about his fiance. Their relationship reportedly began around 2026, and they became engaged in 2026.

Since 2026, he has occasionally shared glimpses of his love life on social media, although his fiancé’s name has remained unknown.

Not just his fiance and parents, but also the entire Willoughby community and Northridge Local Schools are mourning the loss of Jacob.

Following this passing, Northridge School expressed its sorrow with a heartfelt post, saying:

Northridge Family, It is with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved teacher and band director, Jacob Lorkovic. Mr. Lorkovic was deeply loved for his passion for students and music, his leadership, and his genuine heart. His impact on our school and students will never be forgotten.

Following the school’s post, many in the comments expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Mr. Lorkovic.

One user in the comments shared their experience with Jacob, saying:

Jacob was an inspiration to our music program, he had our kids getting back to loving band and the kids loved him so much. I spent a lot of time with the marching band for the last couple years and I seen the most growth this year, he cared. My prayers go out to the Lorkovic family and our polar bear family. We will miss you Jacob!

As of now, the Lorkovic family has not scheduled a public funeral, but the school community is set to offer counseling services on Friday, January 2nd, from 12:30–2:00 PM (Door 1) and again on Monday, January 5th.

While everyone is taking time to process the loss, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the Lorkovic family, friends, and everyone who knew Jacob.
