Baseball Community Is Mourning The Tragic Loss Of Coach Ian Spencer

The sources confirmed that baseball coach Ian Spencer passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 36. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Dave Peterson took to his official handle to announce the tragic news.

The news about Ian absolutely breaks my heart. He was a familiar face to many, especially around West Lincoln. Every time I saw him he always had the biggest smile; he’s always made everyone feel welcome. The only time I’ve ever seen him mad was in HS; he threw a chocolate milk carton at Chris Dressman and busted a window out at the school! Probably top 5 funniest memories from school, that anger turned into immediate panic. Even the best of us have problems that hide behind a big smile. Please, if anyone that reads this is going through anything that feels insurmountable, please reach out to me. Even if it’s been a decade since we’ve talked, I’m here to listen and help in any way that I can. Ian, we all love you brother and thank to you for all the stories, hugs & smiles man; they always came we needed them most.
