Chandra Shanie Dee Dewberry, a grandmother from Chicago, Illinois, shared a Facebook post recently expressing frustration over her grandson being punished at school.

She claims her grandson was benched from his sports team and told he would be punished, despite the incident being minor.

Chandra says she only learned about the situation late in the day, raising questions about the school staff’s communication.

She believes the punishment was unfair and reflects excessive control by the coach rather than actual wrongdoing.

According to Chandra’s Facebook post, the coach initially told her that her grandson had been involved in a fight, which was the reason for his suspension from the game.

However, when she spoke directly with the principal, she discovered a different story.

From the principal’s side, her grandson had simply told another student that she was “cute,” which allegedly led to the student punching him.

The principal confirmed there was no fight, and Chandra was frustrated that she had not been contacted earlier by school administrators.

Chandra’s post sparked responses from friends and other Facebook users, who shared her shock and frustration.

Pam Shelton, a friend, commented that it seemed her grandson was being unfairly targeted by staff and suggested that Chandra involve a lawyer.

Chandra replied that she already has two strong attorneys handling the situation.

On the other hand, a few suggested that Chandra review the specific code of conduct violation to see if there is anything that can be addressed under the ethical code.

The situation has left Chandra feeling shocked and frustrated, highlighting a growing concern among parents about school discipline, communication, and fairness.

Many community members support her stance, questioning whether the punishment for a simple compliment was truly justified.
