Dionne Beals, a Chicago, Illinois native and former Triton College basketball star, passed away over the weekend at an untimely age of 25, leaving her family, friends, and loved ones devastated.

According to reports, Dionne Beals passed away in a tragic car accident; however, details surrounding her untimely death have not been disclosed yet.

Dionne Beals touched the lives of many with her exceptional athletic skills and her cheerful, kind nature.

Many of her loved ones are paying tribute to the late Dionne Beals and extending their heartfelt condolences to her family during this difficult time.

Triton College Women’s Basketball took to its official social media to pay tribute to their beloved former star student-athlete and wrote:

“Our sympathies go to Dionne’s family, friends, and Lady Trojan teammates who built a close bond with her during her time at Triton. May her memory be a blessing. 🙏❤️.”

Dionne Beals played for the Triton College Women’s Basketball team from 2019 to 2026 and led the Lady Trojans to the 2026 Region 4 Championship.

She further continued her basketball journey playing for the women’s basketball team as a guard/forward.

Late Dionne Beals Played High School Basketball at Steinmetz College Prep

, born on August 20, 2000, played high school basketball for the girls’ varsity basketball team at Steinmetz College Prep, from which she graduated in 2019.

Standing at 5’6″, she played primarily as a power forward (PF) and small forward (SF) and wore jersey number 25 throughout her high school career.

Similarly, Dionne earned multiple Player of the Game awards—twice as a sophomore and three times as a senior—and was named Player of the Year once.

She also served as team captain during her senior season, leading Steinmetz to a 16-14 record and a perfect 10-0 conference record.

Her dedication and skill earned her recognition at both the state and national levels, leaving a lasting impact on her high school program.

Dionne’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches remember her not only for her athletic talent but also for her leadership, determination, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Dionne Beals was not just an amazing athlete but also a great daughter to her mother, Grace Ross. However, she didn’t share much information about her father as she had an estranged relationship with her father.

In addition to her parents, Dionne Beals is survived by her two elder siblings, her brother Dion Beals, and her sister.

She is also survived by her uncles, Thomas, Grace, William, and Jeffery, aunts, cousins, and the entire family.
