Edinburg High School Student-Athlete Sebastian Garcia’s Untimely passing Has Shocked Entire Community

A student-athlete at Edinburg High School, Sebastian Garcia, passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Sebastian was a member of the Edinburgh Runnin’ Bobcats basketball Program and Golf Team.

He was the son of Coach Garcia, who coached boys’ basketball for over 26 years.

During after experiencing some pain in his knee, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

At the age of 18, he started his cancer journey and continued to fight for over five years.

During that time, he went through countless procedures and operations.

The sources claimed that Sebastian Garcia passed away on Saturday, May 2026, after a long battle with cancer. Moreover, he was in the ICU, dealing with pneumonia and rhinovirus.

Earlier, Veronica Garcia organized the fundraising campaign on Spotfund for Sebastian and his family to help with the hospital bills.

The campaign aims to collect over $20,000, and it has collected $19,450.
