Wow, we were new to Texas and didn’t really fit in with the culture, but Coach Dixon made us feel like he had known us forever. He was the same kind and gentle man every time we saw him, even after we had graduated and grown up. We admired and respected him, he never made us feel like we were outsider. The world’s best neighbor. The one who loved us as his own grandkids. The man who’s loved it when I called him “Mr Coach Dixon” who was there everytime we sold something or just wanted him to come over.
