Columbus High School and the wider Columbus community are mourning the loss of Football Player and junior Quinn Lloyd, son of Brian Lloyd and Lindsay Johnson Lloyd.
He was critically injured after being thrown from the hood of a car and later taken off life support as family and friends prepared to honor his final gift.
Quinn, one of three triplets, known for his smile and kindness, inspired an outpouring of support after the accident.
Students, faculty, and first responders organized an honor walk at Mercy Hospital in Springfield to salute Quinn as he became an organ donor.

Local reports say Quinn will be flown to St. Louis for tissue recovery after organ recovery is completed.
A set up by his close family member is asking for donations to help cover medical bills, lost wages, and funeral costs.
Support Pours From the Columbus Community
The campaign’s message describes Quinn as a boy whose warmth and compassion touched everyone he met and notes plans for a memorial service and burial alongside his sister Ruby.
Columbus Fire Rescue praised Quinn’s final act and released an emotional message,
Today, this young man is doing something that most of us will never have the chance, or the courage to do. Even in the face of tragedy, his story is ending with an act of incredible love.
As his family prepares to say their goodbyes, his organs will be donated to give others a second chance at life. Somewhere out there, hearts will beat stronger, lungs will breathe deeper, and families will be reunited with hope all because of Quinn.
Please keep his family, friends and loved ones in your prayers as they walk through this unthinkable loss today.
May they find comfort in knowing that even in his final moments, he became a hero, a light in someone else’s darkness.
That sentiment has been echoed across social media as friends, classmates, and neighbors express heartbreak and gratitude for Quinn’s selflessness.
Quinn and his family have already received thousands of tributes and condolences from family members, loved ones, friends, teammates, and other individuals.

Quinn will forever hold a special place in my heart. He was our energetic spark at the pool and when things got quiet we were all thrilled to see the Lloyd boys and friends arrive. Quinn certainly kept my lifeguards on their toes.”
Casey Long added, “Please say a prayer for this family as they begin the process of saying goodbye to their son and brother, Quinn. What an amazing way to celebrate Quinn’s life he lived here on earth, by being an organ donor and saving the lives of so many. Lord, show in this time of sadness and grief, love and strength for the Lloyd family and all Quinn’s friends.”
A family member, Sophie Lloyd, has appreciated all the love and support. “All the prayers are still greatly appreciated. With the power of prayer this sweet boy will fight through this. He will never know how loved he is not just by family but by the community. He is a light in your darkest times. We all need a Quinn in our lives. So please say a small prayer for this sweet boy.”
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the State Theater; the family and organizers will share further details.
