The LaVergne, Tennessee, is mourning the untimely death of beloved native and standout athlete, My’Quavious Barrett.

My’Quavious Barrett passed away on Monday, November 10, 2026, at an untimely age, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

According to his loved ones, My’Quavious Barrett lost his battle with mental health issues and took his own life at such a young age.

My’Quavious Barrett was a cherished member of LaVergne’s sports community, excelling in multiple sports.

A junior in the Class of 2027 at LaVergne High School in LaVergne, Tennessee, played varsity baseball wearing jersey #3.

During the 2026 season, he played as the #2 player, helping the team achieve a 5–17 overall record and a 1–5 district record, which earned them a state ranking of #237.

In 2026, he continued as #3, contributing to the team’s 10–18 record, 1–9 in district play, and a state rank of #248.

On the field, he recorded notable performances, including multiple doubles, RBIs, runs, and stolen bases; for example, in a JV game against Antioch in 2026, he had two doubles, two RBIs, two runs, and a stolen base.

Off the field, My’Quavious excelled academically, earning straight A’s recently this month.

My’Quavious was known as a dedicated student-athlete who left a lasting impression on both his school and baseball community.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late My’Quavious Barrett and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

“We are all still in shock and hearts are heavy. Please say a prayer for this family who is grieving the loss of a son and brother. For the current and former teammates/friends that have spent countless nights on the field with Que. They all need love and support during this time.

Similarly, the LaVergne High School Baseball team took to its official social media to pay tribute to its beloved member.

The LaVergne, Tennessee, community has also created a to help My’Quavious’s family with medical bills and funeral service funding.

The fundraisers aim to raise $2.4k, and to date, around $2,1999 has been raised.

My’Quavious Barrett’s contribution to the community as an athlete and a kind human being will always be remembered. He is survived by his parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, and the entire family.

His family will soon provide details about My’Quavious Barrett’s funeral and memorial services.
