Robert Samson, 39, an American business owner, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him.
A lifelong resident of Taylorville, Illinois, Robert Samson made a lasting impact on many lives through his dedication to family and community.
Friends and family remember Robert for his tireless work ethic, generosity, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him.
Nevertheless, Robert’s legacy lives on through the love he shared and the memories held by his loved ones.
Robert Samson Was A Business Owner In His Hometown, Taylorville, Illinois.
was born on October 7, 1985, in Illinois, to Richard Lee and Debra Faye (McCarty) Samson.
A proud graduate of Taylorville Senior High School, Robert spent his entire life in his hometown, working tirelessly to support his family and community.
He was the owner of Samson Concrete and was widely respected as a skilled handyman and self-employed contractor.
Robert’s talent and work ethic earned him a reputation for reliability and excellence in his craft.
Beyond his career, Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, playing pool, watching fireworks, and spending time outdoors with his children.
He was also a fan of Zach Rhodes Racing, reflecting his love for local events and his community spirit.
Robert Was A Loving Father To This Three Kids And A Wonderful Family Man
Robert was more than his work. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He loved playing in the yard with his kids, creating memories that will live on in their hearts.
Those who knew him describe him as generous, kind, and always willing to lend a hand.
is survived by his son, Jayden Lee Samson, and his daughters, Brisa Lynn Samson and Jordan Mahrie Samson.
He is also survived by his parents, Rick and Debbie Samson, and his grandfather, Robert Samson Sr.
In addition, he leaves behind his brother, Ricky Samson Jr., and Ricky’s wife, Anita Scott, as well as his sister, Deanna (Chris) Gideon.
Robert is also survived by the mother of his children, Amanda Girard, along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marge Samson, Mae Jean Wettstein, and John McCarty.
He also lost his aunt Bobbie Mollet and his uncles Danny, Randy, Steve Samson, and Roger McCarty.
In addition, his cousin Katie McCarty and his sister-in-law DeeAnna Samson had also passed away before him.
While further details such as the cause of his death have not been made public by his family, a visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville.
A funeral service will follow on Saturday, September 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., also at Sutton Memorial Home, with Pastor Brennan Hurley officiating. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Robert Samson’s passing is a significant loss to Taylorville. As a hardworking business owner, a loving father, and a loyal friend, his impact on those around him will never be forgotten.
His dedication to his family, his craftsmanship through Samson Concrete, and his love for his hometown will forever remain a part of Taylorville’s story.
