As per the source, Vondre Nelson, a wide receiver from Cleveland passed away in a tragic accident.
He was a student-athlete who played wide receiver for the Methodist University Monarchs football team.
A freshman on the 2026 roster, he was listed at 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds, bringing a lean and agile frame to the wide receiver position.
At he was enrolled in the Business Management and Accounting programs.
As a wife receiver, his role on the team involved developing route-running skills, improving speed and agility, and building chemistry with the quarterback and offensive unit.

💔 A loss is being felt across the Methodist University community following the passing of a student identified as Vondre Nelson, who was involved in a recent car accident.
🎓 Vondre was a student in Business Management and Accounting, originally from Murrayville, Georgia, and a graduate of White County High Class of 2026.
🏈 He was active on campus, including involvement with the football team and extracurricular activities, and was known as a leader among his peers.
🤍 Prayers are with his family, friends, teammates, and all those affected during this difficult time.
DeVondria Williams also took to the Facebook handle and wrote,

Methodist University also mourned the loss of Vondre and sent prayers to his family to stay .
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Vondre Nelson from Murrayville, Georgia, a student in our Business Management and Accounting programs. Vondre tragically lost his life as the result of a car accident.
As we process this loss, we encourage anyone in need of support to reach out to campus resources, including counseling services, faculty, or staff members. Supporting one another during times like this is essential to our community.
The University has made counseling and support resources available to students, faculty, and staff during a difficult time on campus.
Students are to attend walk-in individual counseling session at Health & Counseling Services at The Well in West Hall from 2-5 p.m. through Friday, as well as group debriefings on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Additional support is available through Student Affairs, Religious & Spiritual Life, and MU Counseling Services, which operates Monday though Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can also be reached by phone or walk-in visits.
For faculty and staff, an Emplotee Assitance Program counselor is available, along with group debriefings at Hensdale Chapel and follo-up individual support opportunities.
Vondre will always be remembered for his unforgettable contributions as a wide receiver.
