Olathe South High School baseball player Trey Hartsook passed away in a tragic accident.
Trey Hartsook was a Class of 2026 right-handed pitcher and outfielder from Olathe South High School in Kansas, standing 5’7″ and weighing 142 lbs.
He competed with Team KC on the travel circuit and was at the time.
Hartsook featured a compact, athletic build with room for physical development and showed promise on the mound with a three-pitch mix.
His fastball reached a maximum velocity of 76 mph and typically sat in the mid-70s, while his slider worked in the upper-60s to low-70s with strong spin characteristics.
He also mixed in a changeup that provided effective velocity separation.

As per the sources, Trey Hartsook, a baseball player at the Olathe South High School, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2026, following a tragic two-vehicle accident in the Oklahoma panhandle.
Trey was killed, and seven other people were injured.
According to the the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday at U.S. Highway 56 and NS 23 in Cimarron County.
As per OHP, a driver headed west on US 63 was yielding to a vehicle making a left-hand turn when they were rear-ended.
The driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended, Joshua Moses Olvera, 44, of Olathe, Kansas, was injured, along with four of his passengers.
A fifth passenger, Trey, was killed in the crash.
The driver of the at-fault vehicle, Cyrus Wagner, 34, of Boise City, Oklahoma, and his passenger were both injured.

Other close friends and relatives have also offered their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Trey’s family to stay strong.
